Sunshine!

Pink Think: "Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather." John Ruskin

Last night my son played soccer in the rain while spectators huddled under blankets and umbrellas.

Last time I checked, I think it was summer. But it's been raining daily for the last couple of weeks. Cabin fever, anyone?

Though in all fairness, my garden looks gorgeous without virtually any effort on my part.

Today, I looked out the window and saw something amazing.

Sunshine!!

Have a great weekend everyone!

What's something fun YOU have planned for the coming weekend/week?

I'm going to Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. I've never been there before, and I am looking forward to it.

(you know, technically, it's not summer for another week...)

Your garden looks beautiful!! I'm still waiting for the rain to start here so this dust will go away.

My only plans for this weekend involve a query letter, a synopsis, and something hard on which to beat my head between drafts.

Nice garden Jewel!

Today's been the first day I've really been able to call "nice" so far. I've got the windows open, it's not raining, and I didn't even have to wear a jacket this morning.

Rain or shine, I'm hoping to get a lot of writing done this weekend.

Yay for sunshine! I hate rainy weather but the quote you posted made me think about it a little bit differently. There is good in everything!

Rain is nice when it isn't freezing cold. I tried playing in it and now have a cough. :P

Still, it's nice to not have to water the lawn.

Ooo, pretty flowers. Bet they smell good.

(no summer plans for Ray, work only)

Jewel - your garden looks beautiful - the best kind of garden is the one that needs little effort, I think.

Going to an "Art-b-que" - Artist booths, beer and barbeque. My friend is displaying her beautiful blown glass art.

Us, too! Us, too! LOL

We walked to take advantage of it, but it was too humid so it wasn't as fun... My middle daughter's bday starts summer every year for us, so we never miss it. LOL

Your garden is gorgeous!

I should mention though that before the two days of rain and storm combo, we did have breezy, warm, clear days beforehand, only a few, but they were there. ;-)

I love your photos, and the quote by Ruskin is nice. Though I slightly disagree with him. Hot burning sunshine, wind and rain... all good. But *cold* is just a plain evil that exists only to make me appreciate warmth even more.

the garden looks awesome.

With rain you get more time to write... i think...

I love all your flowers but my fav is the contrasting fervor of yellow and purple.

The place you are going to sounds exquisitely rugged and refreshing. Hope it's not too too hot and that you have a great time, and maybe even pix to post.

I love flowers and plants - I even have started and grown my own trees from seeds (apple and pear trees). The problem I have is that no matter what I get horrible allergies and migraine headaches every spring.

I just got back from vacay to sun drenched beach coast, but even there we had one drizzly day. But it was nice. It made you appreciate the sun more. I hope you had fun at Grand Staircase. Sounds fun.

Beautiful flowers. I love flowers.

This weekend, hopefully, I'll get to do some backpacking, but it's supposed to rain here.

It's raining here too, I love the rain. When it rains for a long time though, one could really miss the sun. I'm glad you're happy sunshiny day :)

Ooo, pretty! Sorry you've been having so much rain. Us too.

Obviously, John Ruskin hasn't heard of HUMIDITY! Yuck.

Hi Jewel. Sorry bout the rain. But I bet the flowers are not! They look rather appreciative :-) Sunshine is so much more appreciated after a long rainy period isn't it? Enjoy!
